The great Albert King! Hendrix, Clapton and especially Stevie Ray Vaughn all owed a huge debt to this man. For each of them Albert's playing formed a core part of their sound. Albert knew Jimi long before he was famous and used to recount the time a much younger, unknown Hendrix was booed off the stage in the middle of jam. Albert himself suffered the same fate early in his career as did Robert Johnson and Charlie Parker. Suggesting that greatness is a good deal more than talent alone.
