The Truth About The Middle East

The Truth About The Middle East

Contrary to popular opinion, it's Sunni and Shiite Muslims, who've have been slaughtering one another, ever since the demise of Mohamed some 600 years after the death of Christ. Of course, they've both been slaughtering just about everyone else, as well. This is probably a major factor in understanding why the Obama administration decided to promote civil war in Syria, which led to the mass destruction of one of the more functional Middle Eastern cultures in the region.

The Syrians are primarily Shiite, while the Saudi's are primarily Sunni. The Saudis are our allies. While the Syrians (Shiite,) not so much, even though ISIS, the bloodiest of the Muslim death-cults is Sunni. Not surprisingly, the Obama backed Arab Spring turned out to be the breeding ground for ISIS, instead of an Islamic reformation, which is how it was sold.

Now, don't get me wrong, the U.S. will play one side against the other, no matter who's president. And, perhaps, rightly so, given the lack of anything that approximates stability in the region. It's damned tough to have stability, though, if you're the one doing the de-stabilizing. The simpler reality works like this; the Saudis will gladly trade their oil to the U.S., accepting the dollar as the preferred currency. And, oil, is very, very important to the global economy. Sure, politicians pay lip service to solar and wind, but, none of these alternative sources of fuel can begin to match the cost-effective, generating power of oil. Not if you want to have an abundance of cheap food and other necessary resources. This is true for the whole, damned world, not just the U.S...

Insider Republicans and Democrats know this, they just don't think most Americans know this. So, they trot out their dog and pony show every election cycle, pretending to be concerned about the planet, in exchange for votes. Meanwhile, the real game is being played by both parties behind the scene. It's why Obama never did much about ISIS, even though ISIS were the worst kind of murdering scum. Because they were our murdering scum.

Such tenuous alliances are hardly rare in the real world. In the make-believe world of politics, however, angels walk among us, even if hidden behind the veil are thinly disguised devils.

This is just one more reason why Donald Trump is feared by Democrats and Republicans alike. It's why they will collude to undo this Trumpian menace to the status quo. After all, who-the-hell is he, to question the power that be? He is an interloper, an infidel to our Washington elites, in both parties. What we have to decide is, how much of this Washingtonian game reflects reality, and how much is a gigantic swindle, since both things are likely to be true.

That, my friends, is the truth. Or a good part of it. The rest? That's pure subterfuge.
