Fake News Is The New Real News
Fake News Is The New Real News
A number of conservative, libertarian, and disgruntled liberals, have seen their YouTube accounts, Facebook accounts, and Twitter accounts shut down or heavily censored. The reason: the powers that be (yes, they exist) said they were spreading fake news. Or, hurting people’s feelings. Take your pick. So, these new media giants used their global powers to silence, dissenting opinion, without ever explaining why.
Doesn’t everyone know that if you just empower the right people to police our thoughts and speech, that we can collectively figure out what’s true and what isn’t, for the good of mankind….I mean, person kind (Whew! I almost offended somebody with my careless, sexist verbiage.)
Yes, it’s some 25-year-old, with almost no meaningful life experience, no real sense of history, except what could be gleaned by a cool PBS special and a college course, who should be in charge. The reasons are simple; they know nothing. They believe anything, as long as it sounds meaningful, and they care. And, like all concerned activists, they want to change the world, making them useful tools, and that’s about it. “Tools.” Connected, powerful “Tools.”
Think of that smart, semi-autistic, borderline sociopathic billionaire that founded this platform, which we know and love as Facebook. Facebook will manipulate their algorithms to silence opinion they don’t like. Google will do the same, keeping out those dastardly right-wingers. (Is there any other kind?)
For instance, the media reacted to President Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner, being downgraded from his top secret security clearance, and began voraciously reporting stories about why it was done, without ever doing something as simple as asking an actual authority on the subject. Instead, for two days, CNN and other media outlets, did stories about Kushner’s allegedly shady business deals with the Russians, as a possible reason. CNN then reported about a potential bombshell (Maybe) to go along with the dozens of other fake bombshells, which amounted to zip, nada, zilch, over the past year. But there will be no forthcoming apologies for their relentless, journalistic malpractice.
So, here’s what really happened: all such federal appointees, including presidential appointees, are given a temporary security clearance, which has to then go thru a process. Once that process is finished, the top security clearance is re-instated. This is according to typical protocol. In reality, the president—any president—can determine who he wishes to grant a top security clearance to. Furthermore, it wasn’t just Jared Kushner. Meaning, all that wild-eyed speculation, was nothing more than baseless, anti-Trump propaganda. Again. That’s not fake news, however.
Juxtapose that against reports of Hillary’s illegal email server. This server, illegally, contained tens of thousands of governmental documents, dozens of which were classified, exposing the American government to international espionage. Hillary then allowed her top aide, Huma Abedin, who had no security clearance, to have access to those classified documents. Miss Abedin then allowed her husband, thrice disgraced, former Democratic congressman, and new, prisoner, Anthony Weiner, to have access to her computer, with said classified documents, (for surfing porn and hookups with underage girls, no doubt.)
Where was/is the media with this story? Ignoring it, per usual. At best, they give it a glance and then return to stories about President Trump’s predilection for cool-ranch Doritos, or some, other, such nonsense, masquerading as news.
To sum up; real news is the new, fake news. And, fake news, is the new, real news. So says Facebook, Google, and Twitter.
I could go on, and on, believe me. But I’ll leave it there, for now.
