Living in The Age of “T-Rump” and Other Clever Observations
“T-Rump,” president of these here United States, is the killer of Koi. Koi, are a fish, which “T-Rump” savagely attacked with fish food. These weren’t merely fish, they were valuable Japanese fish. The president of Japan, (Or whatever they call him) stood there, stunned, in disbelief, as President T-Rump attacked the helpless fish, pouring a whole box of fish food into their pond, thereby potentially killing them.
Around the world, much of the media faithfully reported this story. This they did, in spite of the fact, that it was total horseshit and easily refutable. Refutation, however, was not on their minds. tRump was—the ruthless koi killer. These dolts….I mean, reporters, wanted it to be true so bad, they looked no further than the initial story and re-reported it like mindless lemmings are prone to do.
Anyone watching the unedited video, however, will quickly find that President Trump did no such thing. There was no koi death. No overfeeding. No dumping boxes of fish food into the gaping maw of helpless koi. But there was a wealth of willful politicization of an innocuous and completely harmless act, by an overtly partisan press, hellbent on feeding their own delusions. You’d think that maybe, they’d question a bit more since a substantial number of these alleged horror stories are debunked almost as quickly as they turn up. If you never look past your preferred news sources, though, you’ll never hear an alternative point of view.
Meanwhile, Republican Senator Rand Paul suffered 5 broken ribs and bruised lungs in a "Neighborly dispute" over Rand Paul’s use of a riding mower. That’s how the mainstream press reported the Rand Paul beating. The neighbor in question was, apparently, a big Noam Chomsky fan. Chomsky is an avowed Marxist, with some libertarian leanings, which is tantamount to calling someone a free-slave. “Oxymoron” is the appropriate term, I think, with a special emphasis on the second half of that word.
Let me clarify a bit. I’m a sizable man, with a background in boxing. I’ve punched the hell out of my share of people. Most, but not all, in the ring. I’ve been punched like hell, as well. Both in and out of the ring. And, let me tell you, you’ve got to hit somebody with a very severe force, to do the kind of damage that Rand Paul suffered. It ain’t easy to break ribs and bruise lungs, even when you’re 290 Lbs., which I am. That kind of damage is what you suffer in a car accident, not a neighborly dispute.
Was the attack politically motivated? I don’t know. But I do know that if the situation were reversed, politically speaking, it would be looked at very differently.
This does not mean that Rand Paul’s injuries were motivated by politics. But, when the media can concoct a story with a global reach, based on a manipulated video, as was the case with President Trump’s alleged slaughter of helpless koi, they undermine whatever moral authority they have left. Which, is precious little. If I’m forced to choose between the “Trump is a Koi killer” headline—and Rand Paul’s neighbor is a stand-in for all Democrats—the latter rings truer, even if it isn’t really true.
That is America in the age of Trump. Not because of Trump, mind you—but, because of the relentless bullshit dispensed by the once venerable American press, who’ve become a joke—and little more.
