The Cognitive Dissonance of a Faithful Democrat
"This is a dialogue between the individual and their more rational inner voice, and the cognitive dissonance that ensues, as a result ."
The Cognitive Dissonance of a Faithful Democrat:
James Clapper and Mike Morrell said they've found no evidence of collusion between president Trump and The Russians.
“Who are these people? Can we trust them?”
One was the former director of the CIA, and the other was the acting director of the CIA, and that would be a fraction of their actual experience in global intelligence gathering.
“But, I bet they served under republicans and are really just shills for Trump and Putin. Right?”
Sorry. Both served under President Barack Obama.
“But, clearly, they don’t know shit compared to CNN’s Don Lemon or any number of other reporters with zero actual experience in intelligence gathering.”
Well, how about Nancy Pelosi? She said the same thing, that there was no real evidence to link Trump and Russia.
“What-the-hell does the former Speaker of the House and current Senate Minority Leader, who’s also a lifelong democrat know? Not as much as CNN’s Andrew Cuomo, I bet? What about that time some Trump official met a Russian—who might have been a Russian spy—two years before Trump decided to run for president? How about the fact that Ivanka Trump has a Russian sounding name? I mean, I can’t let this go—because, then, what’ve I got—after investing so much in a theory, based on nothing more than a few talking points, which I imbibed like beer and tequila shots at a frat party? That would make Trump right. Can you imagine the cognitive dissonance that would cause? No way. How about these horrific photos of dead children in Syria? Why hasn’t Trump done anything about that? Hmm? I bet Trump and Putin gassed those unfortunate people?”
First of all, the problem with Syria exploded after then president Barack Obama decided to lend support to the rebels in Syria, which turned into ISIS. Bashir al-Assad wasn’t a very nice guy. But he wasn’t ISIS. That much is certain.
“I think Trump should go to war with Syria. Nuke Russia. I think he should kill! Kill! Kill! If not, he must be a Russian spy. That’s what I think. Better for the world to burn than me be wrong about Trump. I need a safe space. Where’s my mommy? "Waa!" "Waa!" "Waa!"
And that my friends is the problem of cognitive dissonance among democrats. They would rather take the world down and watch it burn, than be wrong.
