     Lies Our Father's Told Us

Lies Our Father's Told Us

Ask a fascist, what fascism
is, and the only definition given, will be to point the finger at anyone, whose politics they disagree with. “Punch a fascist!” That was the call from the stage at the last The Emmy Awards, and the almost exclusively liberal audience, loudly agreed. Because violence, isn’t violence, when it’s your side that’s engaging in violence.

On the other hand, simply look at the history of fascism, and what they campaigned for, and it all parallels very nicely with just about any progressive candidate or politician. Many of Bernie Sanders campaign promises, for instance, were nearly the same as Hitler’s or Mussolini’s, minus the overt Jew hatred, but even that, was thinly disguised, when it came to the rhetoric surrounding Israel and the Palestinians. This is typical, for progressives. Israel has about 5 million Jews, surrounded by a sea of nearly 320 million Muslims, but it’s Israel, who are the great threat. Not the Jew hating, Misogynist, murderously anti-Gay, militaristic Muslims, living in the region but the sole, truly democratic country in the region.

This is confounding for many progressives, because the progressives whole conception of government, is based around the idea of government, as benefactor, friend to the poor, and dispossessed. That no such government has ever existed, or ever likely will, is beside the point. With sufficient belief, all things are possible, even if they are highly improbable.

Such faith can be easily sustained, however, as long as no one looks at the facts. Invoke Sweden or Denmark, and then offer a meme about how the U.S. spends trillions on a single weapons system, but let’s babies starve to death, and you can win the vote of air-headed children of all ages. It’s as though people woke up one day, having no idea how they got here, with no historical perspective. So, freedom and democratic rule—which, historically speaking, represent the smallest of exceptions—seem perfectly obvious to the newly minted political consciousness of youthful progressives. So, why not free healthcare? And, if healthcare is free, why not free food, and housing, which are even more “Human Rights,” than healthcare? This seems obvious enough.

To a progressive, anyone who makes a profit, is a capitalist. While anyone who is socialist, cares deeply, like Jesus, who was a socialist. That will be the one time progressives invoke Jesus. The rest of the time, Jesus is the enemy. This is what happens when people have no idea how an economy works, or why the Founding Fathers, were the ones who created the first, true democracy. They only know that 2% of the America population had slaves, and no true democracy would tolerate slavery. Meaning, the government should’ve just forced people, at the point of a gun, to free their slaves. But no worries, because after that, they would hand power back to the people, just like Fidel Castro did, when he handed power back to the Cuban people, following the revolution. Oh! Wait a minute. Fidel and his brother Raul held onto Cuba, and then passed it around like a family heirloom, turning the island into a prison camp, as did the Soviets and the Chinese, before them. But hey! They have free healthcare, and that makes it all worthwhile. That’s why progressives could care less about a separation of powers, they just know that they should have power, and, that if they did, they would rule fairly, and justly, even if they’ve never done something as simple as run a business. Not even a little one. Business is just capitalism, anyway. So a new system will be devised, where people are separated into groups, and then sliced and diced into ever smaller groups. Each, of which, must come to their benevolent rulers, who will rule, according to their deeply imagined wisdom. Like thoughtful, wise children, with smooth brains and no experience, they are untainted by the past, free to make a new world, in their own image. After all, who needs God, when you can see God’s image, so clearly in the mirror.
