The New Rules For Radicals
The New Rules for Radicals
"Boy!" These are interesting times. There’s so much hypocrisy in the air, it’s like a thick smog on a sweltering August day. You can almost reach out and touch it. Here’s an example: Rosanne says some dumb, racist sounding things in a tweet about former President Obama’s live-in confidant, Valerie Jarrett. In response, ABC instantly kills the Rosanne revival, in spite of the show’s booming numbers.
Almost as instantly, the public outcry begins as every loudmouth with a political agenda sounds off about heinous racism, with Rosanne’s support of President Trump incentivizing the public meltdown. This kind of furor creates an opening for loathsome opportunists and scavengers to trail the pack, hoping to catch a straggler. That was Rosanne, a hapless straggler, disarmed by a big mouth, and an all-to-handy forum from which to vent. You’d almost believe, as you listen to the outrage, that the self-righteous media-oligarchs actually gave a shit about Valerie Jarrett. In reality, they’re happy that Rosanne made the ape comment. It was a gift directly from Satan himself.
This is how the game is played. Here are the new rules for radicals, in a post-Obama world.
1. You can say anything you want about a member of an unprotected group. Make it vile! Make it as slimy as you want, and no one will say anything. They will laugh, They will celebrate. And no one will care, because “The Unprotected” have no benefactor. Anyone who doesn’t have this special dispensation and benefaction from their government—as is the case with minorities—is a potential enemy of the state, should they disagree. Especially, then.
2. If you say something nasty about a very rich, connected, powerful woman, one of the most powerful people in the world, who's also a member of a protected class, there will be no end to your suffering. Remarkably, this idea actually sounds rational to some people.
3. Equality before the law is old-school. Inequality is the new road to equality. With Uncle Sam, a.k.a. “The Government,” at the helm, all things will be set right. Hell! In the real world, there isn’t even a fairness of outcome among siblings! But, somehow, politicians will make everything right, going deep into the past, ferreting out who gets what, based on race, creed, and sexual preference, plus any other minority designation that’s yet to be invented. Meanwhile, politicians spend millions of tax dollars studying the sex habits of fictional creatures and other compelling subjects, while mismanaging the public’s money so badly the nation is now 21 trillion dollars in debt and counting. These very same people will also be the ones to dry every eye, assuage every hurt feeling, right every wrong, including past sleights, micro-aggressions, even thought crimes. In reality, they’ll be robbing you blind thru taxation and government imposed regulations, which are designed to make them and their cronies rich, and you poor. But, you can still feel good about it. Because, then, we’ll all be equal.
4. The rhetoric used to sell these anti-American, anti-human policies needs to sound benevolent; “We’re raising your taxes for your own good. To help the poor! Let’s not forget about the poor!” By using this kind of language, you can feel noble and establish your bonifides as you sell your own culture down the river with policies closer to Karl Marx and Ho Chi Minh than Thomas Jefferson or Adam Smith. But they sound good, and that’s the important part.
Here’s the lowdown: Either all people are equal before the law, and the power of government is limited, expressly for the purpose of protecting The People, from their government—or, no one is safe—not even legally protected groups of people. That is how America was designed to function, equality before the law, even though the founding fathers knew full and well that real, living, breathing human beings, would fail miserably to live up to that promise. We always do.
If, in turn, you make the argument; “That’s how things used to be, so reverse discrimination is only fair,” you’re probably an idiot. Or, at the very least, you’re resurrecting corrupt, long-dead laws—unconstitutional laws—that were paid for by the deaths of literally millions of Americans. Almost all of them men! (I just thought I’d throw that in there.) Slavery, Jim Crow, and The Ku Klux Klan were primarily Democratic institutions, just as the eugenics movement was essentially a Progressive cause, but that won’t matter a bit. It is telling, though. Historically, the Democrats walked bigotry right thru the front-door in pre and post Civil War America, and then, when it became expedient, they sneaked it thru the back-door, again, under the guise of a new-found concern for minorities.
When will people learn that slavery wasn't about race, it was about cheap labor, enabling bigger profits. Racial ideology was the justification, not the cause. Every bad idea needs a good-sounding cause, to offer the illusion of justification. Today, open borders and mass immigration serve the same purpose; flood the labor market with cheap labor, thereby, driving down production costs, while increasing profits. That’s the reality. The benevolent sounding rhetoric is the cover.
This is the Left’s approach to fairness; reverse bigotry as a method of excising bigotry, enshrine it as law, and somehow, we’ll all just get along. If Americans died, sacrificed, and spent literally trillions of dollars in taxes on government programs, in an effort to make things right, that isn’t enough. It never will be. Just look at the Democrats electoral platform, it consists of; Donald Trump and his followers are racists. They’re fascists. They’re homophobes. They’re transphobes. They’re Islamaphobes. The Left has had to make up new words to codify these new forms of bigotry.
According to them, bigotry is a mental state suffered by tens of millions of Americans. That’s the Democrats accusation, but it’s Conservatives who are the bigots. Calling half the country hate-filled bigots is their electoral strategy. That way the Left can claim to rescue helpless minorities, from heinous bigots, while raising taxes, killing jobs, and dividing the nation under the guise of helping.
It’s an old con, but it still works, just not this time. At least, that’s the hope.
