“If Only Obama Was Still President, Syria Would Be Swell”
“If Only Obama Was Still President, Syria Would Be Swell”
Let’s be clear, it was President Barack Obama who destabilized (destroyed) Syria, as he sought openly to displace Bashir al-Assad, Syria’s president. “Assad was a bad guy,” the Obama white house said, as though the Middle East was comprised of a bunch of good guys, leading the region to peace.
“Horseshit!” should be the common reply.
Relatively speaking, Assad maintained a reasonably prosperous, functioning culture. This was especially true by modern Middle Eastern standards. By the time Obama and crew were through, however, Syria was a bombed-out hellhole, with millions fleeing into Europe, and ISIS in full bloom.
Obama’s support of the mythical “Arab Spring” furthered destabilization in the Middle East and, eventually, Europe, as well, as millions of Muslims fled into Europe, the result of Obama’s “Good intentions.” ISIS then murdered its way across swaths of the Middle East, torturing men, women, and children in the most horrific fashion imaginable, while earning a million dollars a day (the result of stolen oil,) as one of the great murder cults in human history. ISIS also destroyed some of the oldest Christian cultures on earth, which predated Islam by many centuries.
How did Obama respond? He didn’t. He sat on his hands and said “It’s their concern, not ours. We can’t involve ourselves in every war in the region. And, as was the case with Obama’s quick pull-out of Iraq, leaving too little support, ISIS, once again, grew and grew, like a plague. Obama responded with “No worries, we’ll drop a few bombs we’ll degrade and destroy ISIS. “Eventually.” The press, with near-complete unanimity, responded to Obama’s daring-do with “Hip hip hurrah!” “Isn’t Obama the greatest! He’s the greatest anti-war, peace president, ever!”
By comparison, President Trump, in a few short months, virtually wiped ISIS out, and ended the horrific carnage. Yes, there are still some stragglers, but President Trump did—that which Obama pussy-footed around—like he was taking a leisurely walk thru the park.
Obama’s actions not only destabilized Syria and the surrounding region, though, they led to a significant cultural shift in Germany, France, Brussels, Sweden, and England, to name a few countries in Europe that allowed millions of military-age Muslim men to migrate, largely to ill effect. But Obama had good intentions, so that’s something.
Now the press and the Democrats are engaged in much wailing and gnashing of teeth because President Trump wants to pull 2000 troops out of Syria. I would say the hypocrisy is mind-boggling. But it isn’t. It’s just more of the same. Whether all the troops should be removed, is a reasonable question. The hand wringing, accompanied by photos of fleeing women and children, however, are politically motivated, and nothing more. A charade for the dummies. Meaning, if you want to have a real conversation, it requires more than partisan dogma, dogmatically stated for political effect. A little historical perspective just might be needed.
Do I think that will happen?
Not a chance.
p.s. Bashir al-Assad is still the president of Syria.
So much for Obama’s good intentions.
