A Caravan To Nowhere
A Caravan To Nowhere
The migrant caravan is about as spontaneous as the Benghazi attack that killed an American ambassador and three other Americans. Regardless, the media will pretend otherwise. Just as they did when it became clear that Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama knew that Al-Qaeda was responsible for the Benghazi attack—a fact that Ms. Clinton acknowledged in an email to her daughter the night of the attack. But all Secretary of State Clinton had to do was say that all the facts weren’t in yet, and the media went along.
At no time, before or after, was there a shred of evidence to support the initial theory offered by then President Obama that Benghazi represented a spontaneous uprising, the result of a YouTube video that allegedly slandered the prophet, Mohamed. The fact that both Secretary Clinton and President Obama kept publicly using the words, “We will not tolerate the hateful slander of the Prophet Mohamed,” for weeks after the attack, and even arrested the man who made the video to show solidarity with the murderers, was almost completely ignored. That’s because it was close to the presidential election, and it made Obama look bad, having claimed, as he did, that he’d destroyed Al-Qaeda. Barack Obama’s non-response to the whole Benghazi horror show was political—the dead and the families of the dead be damned.
Likewise, the migrant caravan is a political stunt. You can be sure that the Democrats are hopeful that President Trump will relent and let them in, making him look weak on a key issue. Or, what would be even better for the Democrats, the Caravan reaches the border, becomes unruly, even riots, forcing the president to use force to quell the uprising. The media will then descend like roaches on a breadcrumb and get footage of a couple of dead children (That’s their hope) creating the photo-op of the year. You can also be sure that the media will engage in much wailing and gnashing of teeth about the evil Trump administration killing poor Brown babies. The truth will be staring the press dead in the face, but they will ignore it, just as they ignore reality daily while concocting conspiracy theories so dumb that no rational person would believe them. Except for the true believers, who will believe anything, just one more case of the dumb and the blind leading themselves nowhere.
Save a well-deserved trip into political oblivion. At least, that’s the hope.
